Marvel Studios Cinematic Universe: Phase Two

£29.99

Released: 8th October 2018. Collection of six action adventures from the Marvel Studios. 'Iron Man 3' (2013) is the second sequel starring Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark, the billionaire industrialist also known as armoured superhero Iron Man. When Stark's personal life comes under attack he sets out to discover who is responsible and finds himself coming face-to-face with The Mandarin (Ben Kingsley), the villainous commander of a terrorist group. With the lives of his loved ones in danger, Stark fights to save them and in the process begins to consider the truth about the connection between him and his powerful suit. In 'Thor: The Dark World' (2013) Chris Hemsworth reprises his role as the mythical Norse God of Thunder. After the events of 'Avengers Assemble' (2012), Earth and the Nine Realms come under attack from the powerful Malekith (Christopher Eccleston) and his age-old army that have existed since before the creation of the universe. With the enemy proving near impossible to defeat, Thor approaches his adoptive brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston) for help, despite his villainous past. Meanwhile, the hero becomes reacquainted with the woman he loves, astrophysicist Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), and takes her to Asgard in an attempt to protect her from harm. 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' (2014) follows superhero Steve Rogers aka Captain America (Chris Evans) who is now living in Washington where he is trying to adjust to modern society. When a fellow S.H.I.E.L.D. agent is attacked he teams up with Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) to uncover a conspiracy and, with the help of the Falcon (Anthony Mackie), defeat a powerful enemy known as the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan). In 'Guardians of the Galaxy' (2014), pilot Peter Quill aka Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) steals a mysterious orb and finds himself the target of the villainous Ronan (Lee Pace) and his allies. When Quill learns of the orb's powers and the danger it could bring to the galaxy, he teams up with alien Gamora (Zoe Saldana), warrior Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista), tree-like humanoid Groot (voice of Vin Diesel) and raccoon Rocket (voice of Bradley Cooper) in an attempt to prevent a disaster. In 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' (2015) Downey Jr, Hemsworth, Evans, Johansson and Mark Ruffalo reprise their roles as the Marvel superheroes in an attempt to bring peace to the world. Tony Stark aka Iron Man creates Ultron (voice of James Spader), a robot with artificial intelligence, however, instead of protecting humans, Ultron believes the only way to restore peace to Earth is to eliminate its citizens. The Avengers - Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Black Widow, the Hulk (Ruffalo) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) - team up once again to save the day, but can they defeat Ultron before he obliterates the human race? Finally, 'Ant-Man' (2015) looks back to decades earlier when scientist Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) invented a special suit that would allow him to transform to the size of an ant and give him super-strength. The ageing hero approaches petty thief Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and, with the help of his daughter Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly), Hank trains him to become the new Ant-Man. After Darren Cross (Corey Stoll) takes over his former mentor Pym's business he produces a similar suit to be worn by the military as well as a more powerful suit for himself, transforming him into Yellowjacket. This results in chaos and it's up to Ant-Man to use both his thieving skills and his new-found abilities to save the day.
