American comedy in which a tennis player refuses to accept that he is considered past his prime and instead sets out to fulfil his dreams of owning his own club. Determined to prove that he isn't ready to retire from the game just yet, Tommy Everett (Bert Convy) begins his search for the perfect private tennis court to base his club from. When the ideal location presents itself, Tommy finds that the initial outlay would be too expensive and so uses the only means of persuasion he knows how to charm the owner, Leslie (Edie Adams), to offer it for a steal. After he enters an affair with Leslie to keep her sweet, matters are complicated by the arrival of an old flame, Monica (Lynda Day George). With Tommy struggling to suppress his womanising ways, the fate of his tennis club hangs in the balance when Leslie finds out she's not the only woman in Tommy's life.
